What is a .PTX file?
PTX is a Pro Tools session file. Created and opened by Avid Pro Tools. The same extension is also Pentax 645D raw and NVIDIA PTX GPU assembly.

- Identify DAW project files and read what their formats will give up: FL Studio (FLP) has its event stream walked for the FL version, tempo, title, author, genre, comment, pattern and channel names, the plugins it loads and the samples it references - but not its clip positions, which live in data events whose layout varies between FL versions. - .PTX is an identification-grade format: Analyser recognises it from its bytes and decodes the header metadata it carries, rather than opening it in a full viewer. Formats that do get a full viewer are marked "Full" on the formats page.
