What is a .LaTeX file?

LATEX is a LaTeX document, the system that typesets academic and mathematical writing.

Did you know
  • LaTeX, built on TeX in the 1980s, is the standard for scientific publishing.
  • LaTeX is a set of macros that Leslie Lamport wrote on top of Donald Knuth’s TeX typesetting engine to make it easier to use.
  • LaTeX is conventionally pronounced “lay-tech” or “lah-tech”, since the final letter echoes the Greek chi rather than an English x.
What Analyser shows you
Open lightweight document and markup formats as selectable page previews: Rich Text Format (RTF, control words stripped to readable prose), AbiWord (ABW), FictionBook e-books (FB2), Hangul HWPX, and MHTML web archives (the saved HTML rendered with scripts removed), plus markup and typesetting source - DITA, TEI, JATS journal XML, reStructuredText, AsciiDoc, Org-mode, Textile, TeX/LaTeX and BibTeX - shown with every page selectable and copyable. Also opens the small sidecar files unpacked from 3MF and OOXML bundles: OPC relationship XML (.rels) and MD5 checksum text (.md5).

Drag a .LaTeX file onto the Analyser home page (or tap to pick one). It opens entirely in your browser - nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and it works offline once installed.
