Analyse a .NWC file

What is a .NWC file?

NWC is the lightweight cache Navisworks creates from a CAD model.

Did you know
  • An NWC is exported from CAD or laser-scan software, capturing just the geometry and properties Navisworks needs so it can reopen heavy models quickly.
  • Navisworks was created by a Sheffield firm, a subsidiary of Lightwork Design, before Autodesk bought it in 2007.
  • Navisworks combines models from many disciplines into one coordination view, and the lightweight .nwc cache is how each source model is pulled in quickly.

Depth of analysis
.NWC is an identification-grade format: Analyser recognises it from its bytes and decodes the header metadata it carries, rather than opening it in a full viewer. Formats that do get a full viewer are marked "Full" on the formats page.
Open a .NWC file
Drag a .NWC file onto the Analyser home page (or tap to pick one). It is identified entirely in your browser - nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and it works offline once installed.
