What is a .SVPJ file?
SVPJ is a project file for SOLIDWORKS Visualize, bundling the scene, models, appearances and camera setup as a ZIP package. Created and opened by SOLIDWORKS Visualize.
- Did you know
- Visualize uses the model only as geometry - lighting, materials and cameras live in the .svpj, so the same part can be rendered many different ways.
- SOLIDWORKS Visualize uses GPU ray tracing to turn an engineering model into photoreal marketing images, and the .svpj is the whole scene that produces them.
- Keeping the lighting, materials and cameras in the project means the same CAD part can be re-staged endlessly without touching its geometry.
- What Analyser reads
- Identify CAD files and read header metadata: AutoCAD DWG/DWT and DXF now open as a 2D drawing preview (see Diagrams), SolidWorks .sldreg Settings Wizard backups (release year, settings groups and the saved registry keys) and SOLIDWORKS Visualize .svap appearances and .svpj projects, opened as the ZIP packages they are, Inventor (IPT, IAM), Rhino (3DM) and Grasshopper (GH, GHX), SketchUp (SKP), 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, Houdini, ZBrush, Maya, CATIA, Eagle, and KiCad. SolidWorks parts/assemblies/drawings (SLDPRT, SLDASM, SLDDRW) and Autodesk Fusion 360 (F3D, F3Z) have their own viewers - see SolidWorks and Fusion 360 above.
- Depth of analysis
- .SVPJ is an identification-grade format: Analyser recognises it from its bytes and decodes the header metadata it carries, rather than opening it in a full viewer. Formats that do get a full viewer are marked "Full" on the formats page.
- Open a .SVPJ file
- Drag a .SVPJ file onto the Analyser home page (or tap to pick one). It is identified entirely in your browser - nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and it works offline once installed.
