Analyse a .HIPNC file

What is a .HIPNC file?

HIPNC is a SideFX Houdini project saved with the free non-commercial licence, holding the node networks that define a procedural 3D scene.

Did you know
  • Houdini saves a scene as a network of nodes, so a .hip is a recipe that rebuilds the result rather than a baked model.
  • Houdini, from SideFX, is the visual-effects industry's tool of choice for simulations like fire, water and destruction, thanks to its procedural approach.
  • The free Houdini Apprentice writes .hipnc files, which add a watermark and cannot be opened in the commercial edition, keeping learning and production work apart.
What Analyser reads
Header and metadata extraction for 3D meshes, voxels, BIM, point clouds and Gaussian splats: MagicaVoxel VOX, COLLADA DAE/ZAE, USD crate, X3D/VRML, LightWave LWO/LWS, Quake MD2/MD3/MDL, VRM avatars, Siemens JT, LAS/LAZ/PCD/PTS/E57 LiDAR clouds, IFC BIM, and .splat/.spz - vertex/face/point counts, bounding boxes, units and authoring tool. glTF/GLB now open in a full 3D viewer - see the 3D model section.
Depth of analysis
.HIPNC is an identification-grade format: Analyser recognises it from its bytes and decodes the header metadata it carries, rather than opening it in a full viewer. Formats that do get a full viewer are marked "Full" on the formats page.
Open a .HIPNC file
Drag a .HIPNC file onto the Analyser home page (or tap to pick one). It is identified entirely in your browser - nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and it works offline once installed.
